Why the name
We buy well and sell well. No showroom, no shopping-centre rent, no sales floor to staff — so the price on the tag is the price a gadget is actually worth, not the price of the building it sits in.
What we actually do
- "It does what it says on the tin" is an easy philosophy to follow. If it doesn't work the way the box says, it doesn't go on the site.
- We ship from Australian warehouses. Most orders arrive in 2–8 business days. No waiting on a slow boat.
- We answer support emails quickly when order number is quoted, by a real person, who reads your message and writes back.
Kids’ products — our rule
We only sell children’s products and toys when we can check they’re safe: a test certificate from an accredited lab, or a recognised brand with its compliance markings on the product. If we can’t check it, we don’t list it — no matter how good the price.
Reuse is in our blood
Mottainai and Mazuma are in our blood.
Mottainai (もったいない) is a Japanese phrase meaning "what a waste" or "too good to waste" — a sense of regret at the loss of something that still had value in it. It means adding value rather than wasting it. Do good, deliver well.
Mazuma was first recorded in 1895–1900, from the Yiddish mazume, from Mishnaic Hebrew mĕzūmmānīm, "ready money" — from mĕzūmmān, "prepared".
Our founder's background is in giving technology a second life paying millions of Aussie dollars back through Mazuma Mobile.
